Integrative Oncology Navigation

Navigating the world of integrative medicine, especially following a cancer diagnosis can be daunting and difficult. I help my clients connect with the most appropriate holistic services and practitioners, based on their goals, needs and symptom burden. Following an intake, I can help to provide services, and to connect clients to the most appropriate, oncology trained and experienced, practitioners in their area. Complementary care can help clients have more control over their patient experience, help manage symptom burden, and aid in management of cancer-related side effects.

Key Points:

  1. Whole-Person Care: It focuses on helping the entire person, not just the cancer. This includes physical, emotional, and spiritual support.

  2. Personalized Plans: Navigators work with patients to create care plans that mix necessary conventional medical treatments (like chemotherapy and radiation) with complementary therapies (like yoga therapy, acupuncture, massage therapy and energy work).

  3. Coordinating Care: Navigators help organize appointments and make sure clients are seeing the best and most appropriate holistic practitioner for their goals and needs.

  4. Emotional Support: Navigators offer emotional support to help patients cope with the stress of a cancer diagnosis.

  5. Empowerment: The goal is to help patients feel more in control of their health and encourage them to take an active role in their care.

Overall, integrative oncology patient navigation aims to improve the quality of life for cancer patients by addressing their many supportive care needs during treatment and recovery.
